Kaela's 8th Birthday

Fun in the Sun

My daughter had a Fun in the Sun themed party for her eighth birthday. She chose the cake design she wanted this year. The top cake was chocolate, iced with buttercream frosting. The swimsuit was made from fondant. The flip flops were also chocolate cake, but covered with fondant, and decorated with fondant accents.

Zander's Dinosaur Cake

DINO-MITE BIRTHDAY!!

This was my first attempt at a sculpted cake. My friend's son was turning two and having a dinosaur themed party. I was so happy when my friend liked this cake and I got a chance to do it. I used the Wonder Mold cake pan for the body (chocolate cake), the mini ball pan for the head (yellow cake) and then marshmallows to make the tail and feet. I star tipped the entire cake with Tip #21, using buttercream icing. His spikes are chocolate triangles that I made using orange candy melts, and free-handing triangle shapes on wax paper and letting set in the fridge. As you can see in the first photo I also made chocolate and yellow cupcakes that read Happy Birthday using candy molds and orange candy melts. Kids and adults alike loved this cake.

Jukebox Cake

A Rockin' and Rollin' Good-Bye

I made this cake for my co-worker who is leaving to move on to future endeavors. This will be his going away cake. I decided to do a Jukebox because he is very into music and likes retro items. The cake is a devil's food cake with vanilla filling. It is iced with chocolate buttercream icing. All the decorations are made with buttercream icing.

Milee's 5th Birthday

Everything Disney
My daughter had a Disney themed party. After going to Disneyland for her birthday, she knew she wanted a Minnie Mouse cake. This was my take on a Minnie Mouse cake for her. She LOVED it! The bottom cake is a yellow cake with a chocolate buttercream filling. The top cake is a devil's food cake. Both cakes are iced with buttercream frosting. The ears on the top cake are butter cookies covered in rolled buttercream. The only non-edible part of the cake is the bow on the top cake. The top cake is suppose to be minnie mouse ears, like those you purchase at disneyland. The bottom cake has little mickey mouse heads piped on in white.

Mickey Cookies

These are the cookies I made for my daughter's Disney themed birthday party. I made Mickey cookies in red, yellow, black and blue. I put them into cellaphane bags and tied contrasting ribbon around them. They are butter cookies with rolled buttercream icing.

Mini Cupcakes

These are mini cupcakes I made for my daughter's pre-k class to celebrate her birthday. They are a perfect size for little hands. They are confeti flavor with buttercream icing.

Joe's Graduation

This cake is for my husband's graduation party. I used the Wilton Topping Off Success pan. It is a yellow cake with buttercream icing. I was going for burgandy, but unfortunately got a mauve. His school colors are burgandy and gold.
