Graduation Cupcakes

I did these cupcakes for my boss's daughter who was graduating from The University of Arizona. They are confetti, yellow and chocolate cupcakes decorated with buttercream icing. As you may have guessed, the school colors are red and white. The mascot is a Wildcat, hence the paw print on some of the cupcakes.

Margarita Cupcakes

These cupcakes are also for my boss's daughter's graduation party. They were having a fiesta themed party so I decided to continue the theme with the cupcakes. These are margarita cupcakes (non-alcoholic) iced with key lime frosting. The frosting is a cream cheese based frosting. I added sugar sprinkles on top for added style. Normally I would have tinted the icing green, and used green sugar sprinkles, but it would not have gone with the school colors.

Topsy Turvy

This cake was for my daughter's pre-school teacher's birthday. I used the Wilton Topsy Turvy pan. It was a funfetti cake with buttercream icing. I wanted it to be fun and whimsical for the pre-schoolers.

Halloween Cookies

Bats
Spider Webs & Black Cats
Jack 'O Lanterns
Ghosts

This are the Halloween cookies I made for my husbands work party. They are sugar cookies with rolled buttercream icing and royal icing for the details. I made 70 cookies and not one was leftover. I do however have to credit my husband for the Jack 'O Lantern faces, he did all of them to help me out.

Co-Worker's Good-Bye Cake

This cake was for a co-worker who was leaving our department, and going to another department within the University. The cake was a white cake with strawberry filling. It is decorated with buttercream frosting. I made it bold and bright to match the personality of our co-worker.

Kaela's 7th Birthday

She Flips for M & M's

This year my daughter wanted an M & M theme for her birthday. However, she was having her party at a local gymnastics place. So I came up with the clever saying she flips for m & m's. Here are the cakes that I made for her party. All are yellow cake with strawberry filling. The cakes are iced with buttercream frosting. All the accents are done with fondant. The set of two M & M's went to the gym for her and her friends. The orange M & M was for a dinner we were having with family later that night. I choose orange since that is her favorite color.

Joe's Birthday

This year I decided to make my husband a very special cake for his birthday. He is a huge Denver Broncos fan, and was going to the pre-season Arizona Cardinals vs Denver Broncos game for his birthday. This was his first time going to see a professional football game. I decided to give his birthday the Broncos theme. He loved his cake, and the game. The cake was cherry chip with cherry buttercream filling. It is a whipped icing with a buttercream transfer.

M & M Cookies

These are my practice cookies for my daughter's upcoming birthday. She wants to have an M&M themed party. These were definately a challenge, especially moving them from my mat to a cookie sheet, but I was determined. For the most part I like how they came out, but I will be making some changes to the ones I do for the party.

Hearts & Stars Cookies

I am now becoming a little obsessed with perfecting my cookies. I made these for my husbands work. Just to practice and get better with rolling the dough and buttercream to the right thickness, and outlining more precise. They are a lot of work, but the finished product is looking better with practice.

Cookies

This was my second attempt with cookies. I was much happier with the outcome. I am beginning to really like all the options I have with cookies, and how they can be decorated. I cannot wait to do more.

4th of July

This was my second year doing 4th of July cupcakes. I once again used Reynolds ® FunShapes baking cups in the stars. This year the cupcakes are yellow cake, decorated with buttercream icing. I decided to use the basket weave tip for the stripes, then smooth ice the blue section. I used a #14 star tip for the stars. This year I was much happier with the final outcome.

Bailey's 1st Birthday

Ladybug Fever

I was asked to make my niece's 1st birthday cake. Needless to say I was thrilled. The theme of her party was ladybugs. Since I needed to feed a lot of people I decided to do a sheet cake with mini lady bug cakes sitting on top. The photo of the lone ladybug was Bailey's smash cake.

Cookies

This was my first attempt with making decorated cookies. I used rolled cookie recipe for the cut out cookies, and a rolled buttercream recipe for the icing. I definately will need to play around with this some more to perfect my cookie making skills. However, it was fun and I am always up for a new challenge.
